My best advice for what ever class you are taking is to check the attitude and past experiences at the door. I have eight years experience as an EMT and over twelve years in LE. Anytime I take a class (Even those I am certified to teach) I go in with the attitude that I know nothing, and I have yet to to come out of the class without learning something new. When I teach EMT-B courses i will tell a few "war" stories and if I know a student has a story that will relate to the subject that is being taught I may ask them to tell it, but as instructor I don't really care if you have been there or done that, I am here to teach a class and impart knowledge to you. Open your mind and learn and you will do fine in the class.

As far as the testing goes, if Indiana is still doing the NREMT tests don't read too much into the questions. Stick to the basics

Patient Assessment. Know it backwards and forwards. The questions will start you somewhere in the middle of patient assessment and you will need to be able to pick it up from there to answer the question.

emt was easy for me if you run on a rig now it will be even easyer for you so get some ride time

Ok thanks, yea I do run with my dept on ems calls and make about 90% of them, so yea it does help out alot.
