Looking for Power Point training for responding in your Pov with or without a light not with trucks just Pov's..Or manuals....sop for pov's...any ads you run for the public for awerness about Pov's.
If you have any please send them to me at miraroadvolfire@hotmail.com
I'm not aware of any material regarding the response of POV's. At the risk of sound ing like a smart a$$, my recommendation would be to instruct your members in the use of common sense when responding via POV. Or better yet, depending on your relationship with your local P.D., you could have a cop come in and explain the laws of your state in regards to POV's responding to calls. Hope this helps... stay safe!
Just looking for training due to the response I have had about Pov's and the use lights. Everyone seems to say they don't have a problem with the Lights on Pov's due to training. I just thought there must be something out there somewhere.
I am starting to work on a course and any one that does have training in this area, I wiuld love to see it...
Another resource is VFIS, Volunteer Firemens' Insurance Services. VFIS has a POV response DVD in their online catalog: http://www.vfis.com/onlinestore.htm
Our department just sponsored a 3 night course run by VFIS and was very well done. I would recommend it to anyone. I have to think that any of their training materials would be well worth the money.
The South Carolina Fire Academy has a POV Response class. I believe that they use the VFIS program or something very similar. That class is taught by all seven of our regional offices.
