Watch the 1st line go into operation at this fire in Uxbridge on Jan 9, 09 on Henry St.

Fire had a good jump and was spreading to the 2nd floor upon arrival.

The fire traveled to the 2nd floor as the 1st line was put into operation. The fire started under the basement stairs and traveled up the middle of the house and blossomed in the 2nd floor. What the guys didn't know was the stairs were burned out and if they attempted to go to the 2nd floor, they would have landed in the basement.

Notice the melting snow on the roof. Indication of lots of heat and fire starting to penetrate the attic so basically the house was lost before anyone arrived.

So what were the issues with this fire??? The reason I ask (and mind you I only have seen a 2 minute edited blip in time) was moderate smoke conditions with a line going in the front door that seemed adequate enough to handle this fire. So there had to be some other factors that we did not see on video.
