Posted September 13, 2009. Footage showing the moment a fire engine on an emergency call collides with a car in the centre of Luton, has been obtained by BBC Look East.

Eleven people including five firefighters were among those taken to hospital after the incident which also involved a car and a taxi.

A family of five was in the private vehicle when it was struck by the fire engine, but none of the injuries are thought to be life threatening.

The fire engine clearly ran the red light. Just proves the importance of proper vehicle operation.
