Texting While Driving PSA: Too Graphic? Appropriate?

Post your thoughts on this British public service announcement about the pitfalls of texting and driving for teens (and adults too, for that matter). It is graphic, and includes the emergency response to the incident. The video is about four minutes long.

We're asking the same question to members of our fire, EMS and law enforcement communities to see if (and how) the reaction to the video differs.

Comment by Joe G. Husar on August 26, 2009 at 6:35pm: I believe this should be shown to everyone from teen to adult. Yes, it is very graphic, but it also shows that no one is invincible and that it does not always happen to the "other driver".

Comment by Paul Werner on August 26, 2009 at 2:37pm: Very good video, it would be a good video to show to teenagers in a safety class/expo. This does contain some graphic material but i feel its needed to get the point across. This video could help resolve this growing concern in our country.

Yes some what graphic but should make a lasting impression on them. It has become a growing problem nation wide, maybe an in your face PSA will help control the problem and save a couple of lives out there.

Comment by CHRIS PUYLARA on August 26, 2009 at 12:11pm: WOW,Excellent video Chief.It is something that EVERYONE needs to see.I know that there are several states that are or have passed laws against this sort of thing.Here in North Carolina, they recently passed a law banning texting/emailing etc. while driving....which is good.BUT the problem is that the fine if you are caught is only 100.00. I wish that,people who were caught would be REQUIRED to watch this as part of their crime.Is there some way that with all fine individuals that we have on this site,that someone who might have serious political pull can get this video out to the people of this country as a PSA? And, they need to SEE the whole thing. Thanks Web Chief....Chris
