Here is a video I captured of a 3 story apartment fire that happened in the complex I lived in. It was pretty wicked thanks to the wind, it went up pretty quick. I was slightly worried about it spreading to our building but the firemen showed up in time to make sure it didn't get too out of control.

The video is edited from start to finish of the fire. The 2:15 mark is incredible as bits of the roof collapsed and started the fire at the bottom unit. That's when the fire was at it's most impressive. Near the end, the middle of the building was still on fire, it was incredible how it kept burning despite the gallons of water they were pouring on it.

All in all, good response from the FD and job well done. Sucks for the people that lived in those buildings, especially the ones that lost everything.

Somebody dosen't understand fire travel and water application. Why are the guys on the lines in the giant sand trap. The exposure is the one big problem and the hose line placement is not to that benfit. Also no command in the rear to work with the members on the hose placement.

good volume of fire on arrival. I thought I saw a fireman stretching a line about a minute into the video - I thought he was going to make a hit on the fire but no one showed up in the back for another 4 min. Easy to monday morning quarterback but I might have thought of making a hit on it earlier on with a 2=1/2 sitting on it
