Raw Video: Explosion at Petroleum Site in Texas

Associated Press - A fire erupted at a petroleum plant east of Houston, sending balls of orange flame and thick black smoke into the sky. A Mont Belvieu police dispatcher said there were no reports of injuries or evacuations. (Feb. 8)

At the height of the fire, the flame column was shooting from 700' to 1000'. A pilot from another station had been within 1/2 mile of the flames before the FAA imposed a flight restriction, said he could feel the heat from the fire radiating inside the cockpit.

Amazingly, no reported injuries or deaths have been reported, although 1 contract worker is unaccounted for, but it is not known whether he was even on site.
