Providence (RI) 2-Alarm Fire

Companies arrived at this occupied Goddard St 3 decker, which is in the city's Smith Hill section and found heavy fire venting from the 2nd and 3rd floors. With severe exposure problems, a 2nd alarm was called. Initially, companies started to attack the fire from the inside but had to be withdrawn as the fire was too intense. An exterior attack knocked down the heavy fire within 15 minutes and companies went back in and overhauled.

2 firefighters were injured, 1 with a broken ankle when debris fell on them. Providence's Bravest did a great job preventing the spread of this late Sunday morning fire.
