Crews were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 3100 block of Pulaski in New Chicago, Lake Station 1 and 2 were also dispatched. On arrival heavy fire was blowing from most of the house and unfortunately two cats and a dog perished in the fire. Crews made a quick knock using two lines. One baby and an adult were treated on the scene for smoke inhalation. Investigators were working on cause and origin. Great job done by all!

Good point Larry, and I would expand on those concerns with the fact that the two guys on the nozzle are not wearing air packs while the two guys backing them up are.

I think that a 2 1/2" attack line could have made a quicker knock down. The one real worry is the only guy with a white helmet is on a hose line who is the IC for this operation.
