KOL - At 12:55 p.m. Kosciusko Fire Fighters, City Police and MedStat Ambulance responded to the 518 West Adams Street for a house fire. The caller advised they believe that someone was in the home. Audio Audio First responders on scene reported that they had fire coming from the homes " A Sector" Units were requesting more water pressure on the jump line, and that an extra line was needed in the back of the home. Emergency personnel were able to contain the fire by At 1:25 p.m. MedStat was on location for anyone that may need medical attention. Firefighter Wilson Ward was overcome by the heat and was transported to Montfort Jones Hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time but according to Chief Burdine it is not believed to be serious. Bystanders told Kosy Online that neighbors went into the home and rescued an elderly female, that was bound to a walker, from the burning home. The home was owned by Marie Goss and rented by LaToya Veasley. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Kosciusko Fire Department. Chief Burdine gave KOL a short summary of the incident in a video interview.

Wow, I think this call could qualify for a FIREFIGHTER CLOSE CALL. That entire house was charged and looked like it could flash at anytime. I completely disagree with using exterior lines on a fire while there is a crew inside. So many things couldve gone wrong here.
