Watch as a routine gas leak response turns into near deadly tragedy Thursday in Maryland, as an explosion and flash fire blows out walls and the roof. It is one amazing close call caught on tape.

Five Prince George's County firefighters and one gas company employee were burned in an apparent natural gas explosion at a shopping center in Forestville, Maryland. Some were seriously burned, but at this point it is not believed any of the injuries are life threatening.

Almost lost a Captain back in the early 90's on a very similar explosion in Pensacola, FL.
He suffered 3rd degree burns to his nose ears and hands.

Never take these things for granted, and we all do.

How many times do we pull uip on a gas leak and even when we smell it, still just go about our business without a thought that this might not work out.
