Kernersville House Fire With Backdraft

From Youtube, cameras catch a house fire explode as a result of a backdraft. Very intense and extremely devastating.

Comment by Firefighter Nation WebChief on January 16, 2009 at 5:51pm: This is the description from the person who posted on YouTube: This is in Kernersville, NC where a home caught fire and as firefighters entered oxygen was re-introduced to the fire and caused the home to explode. You'll see the explosion caught on a Kernersville PD dash cam. It happens at about 2:04:05. Pretty amazing that everyone made it out OK. One firefighter was transported after some debris fell on him inside the home during the explosion, but he was treated and released.

From News14 Report: firefighter was sent to the hospital after a home on Union Cross Road exploded. Video caught by a Kernersville Police dash cam shows the explosion lifted the home off its foundation and the roof collapsed with a crew inside. "As we entered the building and began to ventilate and to flow air by moving hose lines, the heated gases got the air it needed and it created a smoke explosion," said Walt Summerville, Kernersville Fire Rescue chief. Investigators believe this dangerous explosion was a back draft, something they don't see very often.
