(Bystander g.t.salzer recorded this film and shared it with us.) More than a dozen Red Cross Disaster Action Team members (mostly volunteers) were on hand today to help residents affected by this apartment fire in Joplin MO. A Shelter has been opened and caseworkers are working with families to assess their immediate emergency needs. The Red Cross will help with shelter, food, clothing, and some medical supplies as needed. And, or course, our volunteers are always there to offer a hug or a shoulder to the families who have been left homeless by disasters like this.
