THE RIVER RAT GANG RESPONDED TO A WORKING VEHICLE FIRE AT THE SAM'S CLUB PARKING LOT AT THE UNIVERSITY TOWN CENTRE. THIS IS THE FOURTH CAR FIRE IN THREE WEEKS AT THE SHOPPING CENTER.IT WAS ALSO THE SECOND INVOLVING A BUICK IN LESS THAN A WEEK.

Folks- it might have been easier to open the drivers door and pop the hood this was not tried. Also even though you may not like it this was a perfect fire for a booster line instead of having to pull 900 ft of hose. The fire service has to re-think this problem. A booster line is just another tool in the fire fighters arsenal, and just needs training on the part of officers to get to know when to use it. What I did for my department was to get a local car thief do training on how to gain entry into a car truck, hood and passenger compartment. He did this with complete police approval.
