This is a common problem in Oklahoma. Highway patrol has some major self-esteem issues out here. They have tried more then once to arrest firefighters from my department and neighboring departments when the highway was covered by smoke and surrounded by fire. Highway patrol in Oklahoma has lost all respect from EMS and FD personal out here for multiple displays like that. They even tried to arrest a Midwest City firefighter when he shut down the highway when one of their own firefighters had been hit at a rescue call. When the highway patrolman found out the firefighter was dead, he insisted they move since no ones life was in danger.
It looked like the car saw the ambulance and heard the siren and was yeildin for the ambulance. Which gave the ambulance no room to move over. The deputy gave no due regard to the public or him self. The medic is responsible for the truck no matter what the driver does. He was doing his job. You can clearly see the trooper came up to fast for the driver to react with the car yeilding. Very unsafe. Very unproffesional. But on the other hand he should not have left his pt. All the trooper had to do was follow him to the hospital and finish his business there. For the patients concern. He could have caused the patient worst problems then they allredy had. We are suppose to be on the same side there should have been alittle more respect shown.
see first of all if you look there was a car in the way for the squad to pull over. and the trooper at first got right up on the rigs butt you cant see a car thats that close in the mirrors. the trooper didnt need to scream and cuss at the driver. yeah it was wrong for the medic to come out but the trooper should lose his job for that.

I think they were both wrong the medic never should have come out of the rig #1 and when he did he clearly asalted the officer the officer was being very disrespectfull to the driver in his tone words and body lang. but that does not justifie that actions of the medic he should have his card pulled for leaving his pt & leaving the back of the rig wide open did you see all the people in and out of that thing sure the drug bag was sitting out i am fire and EMS not LE so dont think this is coming from a cop and dont get me wrong I agee that he could have fallowed them tho the ER and handled it there but how did the officer know they had a pt? they werent runnig hot ? i would say when the offcer talked to the driver the diver should have said we have a pt fallow me to the ER and the officer should have done that ther was a lot of wrong actions by all partys but I would not pin it all on the cops some one stated below we save them he thins go bad but in the same respect they cover our a** when we are in a bad situation to it is a two way street the area I run in we have a great relationship with LE and it shows when we work the same scene a little respect from everyone would have gone a long ways

wow that is total bs..hope that trooper losses his job over this
The cop was wrong!! The trooper cleary was speedn and the ambulance driver didnt have time to react at one instance the trooper looked he was going to pass the med unit without seeing if any oncoming traffic was comeing , also after he took off when the scene was gettn cleared , the dash cam almost shows him hitting a pickup truck!! This trooper had no due regard for his safety , the public safety , the ambulance crew safety , and also the patient safety.. He should have followed the med unit to the hospital and delt with them at the hosiptal after the patient was taken care off , the trooper was a dum ass!! If the patient would have gone into a life threatening condition the trooper could have been sued and other charges filed!! Also cops and troopers remember if you get shot , etc , guess who comes to ur aid !! Thats the guys in the med units and fire trucks!!! We need to all work together instead against each other!!
3/4 of most LE are ME,MY,Mother F**kers......I have LE friends that would be embarressed if they work for that state.....There is no reason for the troopers actions PERIOD! Failure to yield to an emergency vehicle? The box did when it was safe to do so.....The trooper was out to lock someone up...That was his issue....Look at the the way he treated both technician's and the general public...HORRIBLE display of any type of professionalism.....Ooooops my bad....There wasn't any...I wonder if he keeps his bullet in shirt pocket for his sidearm? lol
