Firefighter closecall while wearing helmet cam

FROM YOUTUBE:
While inside doing a search of a workinf house fire the roof collapsed on my partner and I. My partner was quickly able to get into the kitchen and out of harms way. I was still tangled in debris and unable to follow him into the kitchen. Once I was able to free myself from the debris i was still unable to make it to the kitchen do to the fire load and more falling debris. My partner advised that he could make it to the steps and that he had made it to the hallway and was able to get out. I had to exit a window on side charlie via a ladder that had just been placed in service by the truck driver. All Firefighters were able to exit the house without major injury.

WTF Over?!?!?!? No seatbelts on rigs? No use of waistbelts on SCBA? Brother FF has roof collapse on him and yes you got out but a MAYDAY should have been hailed over ASAP to allow the FAST/RIT team to get a plan together for extrication. It seemed like alot of bad happened way to quick. Volley or paid there should always be accountability on whos goin where or what rig you came off of. there def needs to be some serious training on these major job hazards. Stay Safe brother

seatbelts anyone? insurance does not cover you if you don't wear it, bet you didn't know that huh? and yeah i just seen the rope holding the door open, i would never let this happen on our dept, any of these things happened anywhere near our district the person would be gone asap, we don't put up with these kinds of things!

Good GOD where do I start with the problems, lets go to the degining. It looks like the door of the company is being held open duurng response with rope. This company never reported tc command went into the worst side of the building, either your IC dosen't understand building constructiion or that person is not on the same fireground that you are working on. The rest of the problems seem to be in Jeremy"s report. I just know one thing as an IC for many years this would not have occured on my fire ground. Any of IT.

Jeremy, you hit on every point I was going to hit on. This video should show everyone what we should no longer be doing. This is why we continue to kill firefighters. Bad in so many ways

NO MAYDAY? Let's see...roof collapse, separated partners, trapped firefighter. And the one 'partner' gets out and leaves? Jeez.

Okay is there no accountability? i heard them evac. on the radio several times and still firefighters going in? there was nobody holding the ladder? when the roof collapsed the 2 firefighters separated? and it looks like this guy left his partner inside and i never heard him say anything about his partner being inside to anyone? yes he did let command know the roof came down but not a word about his partner? i heard him talking to him later but never said a word as far as looking for him at the time? at the first of the video is the door open on the truck going down the road? i never seen anyone check in when they got there looks like everyone just jumped out of the truck and ran inside? that was the norm about 15 yrs ago but people get hurt doing these things that these guys did in the video. not trying to nit pick the video but come on guys be smart and don't get hurt, our dept lost 2 fire fighters in 2007 and now we have to watch our step now with all the new rules and everyone watching everything we do. thank you for what you do though.
