(Military.com) Every sailor is a firefighter. The lessons learned at firefighting schools save lives and save ships. The ability to control shipboard fires is a tribute to teaching and instructors at schools like the Farrier Fire Fighting School in Norfolk Virginia. Petty officer Mark Schultz visited with the instructors and brings us this report.

when you join the navy do you have to pick this training or do you get sent their automatically?

It's a shame that I was sent home for bronchitis. That's exactly where I'd be right now. In the middle of the Pacific Ocean. God bless the Navy
