That was smart for them. Good thing in my country (another third world country). People here won't take any chances to touch the suspected object. We call the police and let them do their thing. And yes, some of our swat / bomb members had atleast a body armor and helmet. People here won't forget our worst bomb attack in our capital last Dec. 30, 2000. At exactly 12 noon. 5 bombs went off almost simultaneously, including near the U.S. Embassy (no one was hurt at that place). But the worst casualties was the commuter train at the heart of the busy capital. I couldn't forget that day because I was working at the bank just a kilometer away from the commuter train station. I didn't heard the explosion but I could here ambulances and fire trucks sprang into life to respond to the first MCI operation in the country. After that, people here are more vigilant in train stations and other choke points in our transportation.

After 9/11, our authorities have undergone intensive joint-military training with U.S. forces visiting our country. Those know how are added to our arsenal, so that I could sleep peacefully but ready to respond if a need arises.
