Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I am not in the emergency service at the moment and won't be, i am studying to be a nurse. but i have a strong heart for it. my father is a firefighter, and i studied at Eastern Kentucky University for 3 yrs studying to be an arson investigator/firefighter and attended FDIC for 3 yrs and received some wonderful training out of it. after i get my RN i may go to become an EMT. i enjoy taking care of people @ the emergency and in the hospital so im torn. but enjoy learning about the medical field no matter where i am.

I know where you are. I have been a critical care nurse for three years. Not long after I got out of nursing school I joined a volunteer department got my NFPA FF I and II and became an EMT-B. Now I am probably gonna go for my paramedic. I can't help it...it is contagious. Let me know if you got any questions

Best of luck for Nursing, did that for 6 years....
Moved on to do other things, had the chance to do some interesting stuff. Lots of areas to go into.

Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.

Enjoy, be safe and remember we all come home.
