Temps here have been "cold" ..it was MINUS 2 degrees yesterday am. Today its in the low 30's, up to 40+ Wednesday, then back down to the teens...makes for some real interesting firefighting OPS in the winter..

Glad to hear things are getting back to normal your way.You're right in the manner in which you presently operate. In all my travels throughout the US, the use of clamps especially on LDH is not utlized, coordinated communications and established and practiced SOP help develop the necessary coordination and timeling required to execute the hose lay, hydrant hook up and flow to the engine, as the engineer/Chauf. prepares to accept the flow and pump. (can the clamp idea...)

How's everything down your way in Texas? Been real busy on my end; Rolling out a new column on Firehouse.com and trying to add some useful stuff to the FFN pages to keep things in perspective....

Our department is preparing for the approaching hurricane we have eva and first responder shelters here in san antonio and the are run by firedepartment people.I am a shelter coordinator ( first responder) and will be very busy in a few days and also trying to study for Captain wow not enough time in the day
