About Me:: Started as a junior firefighter at age 12.5 and never looked back. Was a CFR by 16, EMT at 19 and began driving and training by age 18 as well. Began running pumps at age 16 and pumped a couple fires on an engine by age 18. Love what i do every minute of it...although the death and destruction has left a mark. Spent some time working as a police officer as well in a small town in WV before returning home and continuing with my own business. Hoping to move on to a career in Emergency Management however.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: Started as a junior firefighter and fell in love. Its in my blood. My grandfather was and still is a firefighter in my department, and i got my mother into it as well.

Why I Love Fire/EMS: Helping others in thier time of need.

Top Issues Facing Responders:: Lack of manpower, poor leadership training. Its one thing to get trained in a classroom how things should be done, Its another different world to be out in the field managing a team when the big uh oh happens....whats the textbook say now?!

Ok, ill add some more about me now. I am 28, live in upstate NY, been a fireifghter for almost 15 years now, an EMT for goin on 10. I have 2 beautiful little girls, whom i love very much. I am very active and busy, and thats the way i like it. I hate being bored and not having anything to do. I love to be outside doin stuff, pretty much anything...specially sailing, camping, skiing, etc. Wanna know more, just look me up on aim or yahoo, or even myspace.

Goin to Emmitsburg

Ok, so in October for the National Fallen Firefighters memorial services my department is sending several of us down for the ceremonies, since our past chief is being added. We are taking about 20 of us on a charter bus. Problem is we are leaving here about 3:30 am and driving on down. We are looking for a house in the emmitsburg area we might be able to hook up with where we can swing in, meet and greet and such, and let all the guys and gals change into thier uniforms and such so we dont have… Continue
