About Me:: I am 18 years old, and a freshman at the University of Maryland; College Park. I joined the Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Company in January 2007 as Cadet #4. We run about 250 fire calls a year, and I finished among the top ten responders in the entire department in 2007. I have completed Firefighter 1 and Rescue Technician: Vehicle and Machinery Rescue.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS: I wanted to give back some of my time to the community, and I wanted to meet new people, learn, and have fun.

Top Issues Facing Responders:: lack of support from local, state, and federal government.
