Yep, I really enjoy the search work. I have 2 yellow labs, Boomer is 9 and Zeus is 2. As I can see from your pic you work a pointy eared. FYI Boomer is in the Dog heroes of Sept 11th book.
Actually I was in the mortgage industry in San Jose and here up until a few years ago. I love NC but I miss CA also. I spent a lot of time camping up in the Stanislaus mtns and probably miss that the most!
Also have a floppy eared Golden (non-search). My youngest comes out to play during trainng, and loves the debate over floppy vs pointed eared dogs. Came back from a fire one day to find that he had taped one of Apollo's ears down!! He figured if Apollo had one ear each way, he would be perfect.
The pointy eared dog has a nice sheppard name, Apollo! Can't name a shepard fluffy or something like that. Badger is an old (my kid will agree with that!) nickame of mine
Hi Margaret, I stumbled across your photos of working with your K9 partner tonight. Very cool. Our department does have a water rescue team, but I have yet to us work with a K9 on the water. I would be curious to see that in action. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
I am quite pleased by this site and I am looking forward to visiting everyone that has invited me to include them on my page. I will certainly be looking up the K9 pages. As soon as I figure out all the ins and outs of making up a page here, I will do so. Visit my site on Myspacecom/outdoork9lady until then. Everyone stay safe out there. Bless all those that put our lives on the line for others, even when the budget and the public aren't always there for us.
