Tanya; Sorry for the long delay getting back to you; The flu had been running through the house and things are so backed up. Here is a book you can look up and help you work with; It's called " A New Harbinger Self-Help Workbook" The PTSD Workbook the book is by Mary Beth Williams, Ph.D., LCSW, CTS
Soili Poijula, Ph.D. I use this book to this day and also do the work sheet work in it and if you want to set time or like me link a chat time setup and do the work sheet together. And I have more info I get daily, I do get things in two or three time a week . The best start is this book I call my tool box and it helps. "Your Friend Jim God Bless Stay Safe".
Thanks for the info. The seminar is April 26 and 27 however, we hope to arrive on April 24 and leave the 28. Hoping we will stay the extra days to do some sightseeing. Our group will probably being staying at the King Charles Inn, Hampton Inn Historical District, or the Fulton Lane Inn. Please let me know if any of these are better than the others. Hope to hear from soon, stay safe !!!
Hey!! what's up?. Some co-workers and I will be attending a training seminar in Charleston and I was just wondering if you had any suggestions on sights to see or things to do?.
Looking forward to hear from you in the future soon, I never got an e-mail about you wanting to be with the group. To me it is very important to see the group get off the ground just like debriefing did but as you know it was to late for myself and other brothers& sisters. And help like I did as a firefighter EMS Provider and keep giving in another way. So if you want I do have another e-mail address it's racingdjgse@hotmail.com.
Thank You Jim Mc Laughlin

The community helped Sandhill Fire Chief Zacheus Goodwine build his house in 1978 and it will help him rebuild after a fire destroyed it Tuesday morning.
Nobody was home when the fire broke out around 11 a.m. at 1332 Clubhouse Road. The blaze, which is not considered suspicious, appears to have started in the ceiling of the living room, Dorchester County sheriff's Detective John Garrison said.

Firefighters put down hot spots in Zacheus Goodwine's house on Clubhouse Road in the Sandhill community in Dorchester County near Colleton County on Tuesday. Goodwine is the chief of the Sandhill Volunteer Fire Department and was at work at the Naval Weapons Station when he heard there was a structure fire on his road.
"Twenty-something years now, I've responded to someone else's (home)," Goodwine said Tuesday, his eyes bloodshot from tears shed over the loss and from the lingering smoke.
Goodwine was at work at the Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek when he learned the Sandhill Fire Department had a working structure fire. He didn't know the address until he was paged and a dispatcher asked, "Isn't that your house, chief?"
"I started crying," he said.
A neighbor who saw the flames called in the fire. Firefighters from Sandhill, Old Fort, Ashley River, Dorchester Rural, St. Paul's and Ridgeville responded to provide water and manpower.
Neighbors and fire crews from other departments shook Goodwine's hand or grabbed him in a hug to offer condolences. James Smalls, who helped do carpentry work on Goodwine's house 29 years ago, was among them. He joked that he was young back then and didn't have enough sense to realize it was hard work. Although a bad back prevents him from climbing these days, Smalls said he and others will be there again to help Goodwine, not because he's the fire chief, but "because he's a good person."
"In our community, people are all right," he said.
A team of volunteers from the Carolina Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross also responded to the fire.

Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.
Thanks for the add. We also know what loss is--not to the extent that you do but our beloved fire chief died 3 years ago and we also had 2 of our police officers killed in the line of duty. It is never easy but none of those guys would want us to give up or quit.
