Camano Island is a medium sized community, we have approx 12,000 residents in the winter and twice that in the summer. A lot of new construction homes, people moving here all the time (too many in my opinion). We have 5 fire stations, each with at least 4 apps assigned to them. It is mostly rural, but you wouldn't know it from the traffic. There is only one way on and off the island so it can bottleneck really quickly. Overall it is a great place to live (I've been here most of my life), a great place to raise kids, and it is Pacific Northwest beautiful. Whales, eagles, deer, and many other wildlife species to enjoy. The crabbing and fishing is outstanding. And of course, our FD rocks. By the way, I love the East Coast. Have family there, maybe we could get a tour of your district next time we are out that way. TC, SS.
