Why don't they enforce the smoking ban? Do they need someone to complain?? I'm sure I could arrange that!! AND I will have the state fire marshal with me!! Got any other dives you want shut down??

The closest bar is down the road from the Comfort Inn by the Circle K. It's a hole in the wall that doesn't enforce the smoking ban...or they didn't last time I was in there but neither do the cops. I know all of the cops. I ought to...I work for the Sheriff's Department. That's not a free get out of jail free card either. hahahaha

God.....I'm sick of orange barrels!!! Half of Hobbs is under construction!! All the major thoroughfares!! We'll probably go with the Comfort Inn. Where's the closest bar? You know any cops?? hehehe!!!

There's no telling what happened with that. It would depend on who you ask around here and the response you'll get from each one will be different. I personally don't know the answer. I know that the K-Bobs that was there closed for financial reasons and then another place opened but they are closed too. Denny's is across the street from there but in the same parking lot as the Comfort Inn. I actually think it's a Days Inn now. Not real sure. I really hope the road construction is done by then. If not, the Best Western is not a very good choice. They're doing major intersection changes because of the new Wal-Mart.

Yeah...we did and that was my first choice but sometimes hotels go down hill. Since they are not Best Western anymore, I wasn't sure. Didn't know if they dropped BW or if BW dropped them. That happened to the Comfort Inn here. Wasn't being kept to Comfort Inn standards so CI dropped them.

At the Best Western that is.

They have an outside pool. I don't know about a hot tub though. The rooms open up to the outside though. The rooms at the Comfort Inn open up to an indoor hallway. I think you stayed there the last time conference was here. I remember going over there and drinkin with ya. lol

That's really strange!!! Vicky called them too and they told her they were booked. Maybe I need to ask for the manager!! Is it better than the Comfort Inn?

Hmmm...I think you were tryin to send me that comment. hahahaha I hate when that happens. Yeah, we have that problem a lot in Sierra County. It's bad. I just got off the phone with Hot Springs Inn and the gal told me they have vacancies and king sized beds to boot. It's odd that they would use Father's Day Weekend as an excuse as there is nothing going on here that weekend except for conference and those that come in for that weekend camp at the lake. I honestly don't know what's going on but it's irritating. I would stay at the Comfort Inn if I had a choice. They have a pool and hot tub.

You mean you have that problem in Sierra County too?? I finally got hold of the comfort inn today. Got rooms there too!! When we decide where to stay I'll cancel the other one!!

That's crazy. I don't know what's goin on with them then. Possibly someone that doesn't want to work.

Well, I don't know who you called but the Best Western or what was the Best Western that is now Hot Springs Inn or something like that, has 20 rooms available for that weekend. At least they did Wednesday night at 6:30 when we called. We couldn't get in contact with the Comfort Inn for some reason...no one answered...it's named something else now too. You might want to check again. That's the only good suggestion that I have.
