Hey Stephanie don't forget to drop by IFPA's full site at http://ifpaweb.ning.com/. There is quite a bit of information for fire photographers to see. My situation is similar to yours, I am not Fire/EMS but because of my husbands job, I became fascinated with Fire/EMS photography. talk to you later.
I use the Nikon D-70. It's a beautiful piece of equipment if you like a heavier camera. It's definitely not user friendly when you're first starting to use the features it has, but once you know where all those special features are, it becomes handy and you get some great prints. I don't take fire photography as you do, however I do enjoy nature photography and just shot my first wedding for a co-worker this past August. For not being professional, the pictures come out absolutely wonderful.
Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for the add. Stay safe out there! Your hobby of photography is wonderful. I enjoy the same interest. What kind of camera do you use?
Any Photographers from the Chicagoland area please contact me. Or any departments that will be having live fire training soon that wouldn't mind a "tag-along" photographer, please let me know. I'd love to get more experience taking pictures. :)
Thanks, Stephanie
