hey i want you to do me a favor.... find out what kind of training you have to have before you can work as a paramedic with a fire department. I know you have to have your NR/EMT-P, but im not sure as to what training you have to have as far as the firefighting part of it goes.

I don't know really. From what I understand they are training me on just the basic stuff. How to use your turn out gear, breathing techniques to make your air last longer, building searches, hose operation, etc. Then in about 2 weeks I am gonna join and they are gonna issue me some gear.
Hey there cutie, THANKS for adding me & I hope we become very gr8 friends, if you EVER need me. I will be here for you :-) Ok? I love you very MUCH & ALWAYS remember that. Love always Jimmy P.S. STAY SAFE!!!!
Well at my EMS I'm referred to as "the ride-along" but my shirt says explorer lol. You must be over the explorer program in your area, I'm just part of the program. I ride along with the EMS crew on calls, just so I can see how things are handled and what to do in certain situations. They let me do simple things just to help out like check blood sugars, spike IV bags, hooking people up to the heart monitor, or whatever they need me to do. They apparently have high hopes for me as far as going to school and doing this as a career because they have thrown me into some pretty gruesome calls just to see if I could handle it. My advice is as long as you are comfortable with your junior firefighters and explorers let them do whatever they can. That hands on experience will help them. But if you don't feel they take what they do seriously, make em stay at the station lol.
Hey whats up! thanks for the add request. im kinda new around here and making friends is difficult. looks like your in the same position im in as far as being an explorer. what do you do at your department?
