To all Famiily and Friends;
May God Strengthing you in this time of sorrow and give you understanding and peace. Heaven has gained an angel and earth has lost a hero. R.I.P. Brother
I took many classes of Bob's, too many too recall, he was a great teacher. Rest In Peace. Your legacy lives on in all of us who were lucky enough to have you grace us with your knowledge... Every day when we respond to that alarm, you live on with us.
God Bless Brother.
I was a student in Bob's final Firefighter 1 class. He was a great teacher, mentor, and a great guy. There were so many times he would cheer me on in class, due to my big size. And he always made a joke, or just had fun in class. Outside of the classroom, he was great guy to be around, and an even funnier. I am proad to have had the privlage to have been taught by such an amazing instructer. He once told me that he looked at every firefighter in Erie County, and he said he had taught 85- 90% of ALL the firefighters in EC. That was amazing. And I feel sorry for all the new firefighters coming in the field, that couldn't better their skills by taking one of Bob's classes. Rest in Peace dear friend, and mentor of mine forever.
and in the words of Mr. Newell- "Omnis Cedo Domus"- Everyone Gos Home, and Bob is home too.
It is with great sadness that today we say goodbye to OUR BROTHER, OUR FRIEND, OUR MENTOR we will miss you, but we our richer for having known you, the fire service and the world has lost a great person. Thank you for making the world a better place and teaching us all how to be the best like you. REST IN PEACE!
I had the pleasure of serving with and learning from Bob while I was at Hamburg. It is no exaggeration to say that it's impossible to measure how much of himself he dedicated to the community and the fire service. He led by example and experience and was willing to allow others to lead with a supportive attitude. Everyone in Hamburg, as well as the entire Western New York region owes respect to this man. However, although his passing is a immense loss to the community, Bob has left an indelible legacy that everyone in the fire service will benefit from.
He will be greatly missed.
