I previously worked for a company that didn't put titles on our business cards. I explained that it allowed them to have us do ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING.
I too wear many hats, figuratively and literally. At the fire academy, I'm convinced that my only job security is as the "A/V Guy" or resident geek. I'm thinking of having that put on my next badge.
Hi from Mich! I know what you mean,I have been on our dept for 35 yrs and now working with the kids of guys that I started with is a little weard to. Stay safe and keep up the good traing pfd824
I found this part of your bio to be very interesting: "...and me, the Chief of Training and Infection Control."
Training and Infection Control - Is that like two great tastes that taste great together? I find that to be a humorous combination for a title or position.
Don't we want training to be infectious? It should be if its good training. I don't think we want to "control" it if it is.
That just stuck out at me as being funny. Keep up the good work and keep "infecting" people with your positive attitude towards training and serving.
Click or call if you'd ever like to share ideas. I coordinate the training of our county's 97 fire departments and 5,000+ firefighters. And, in my spare time, I'm the Chief of Training for a small, semi-rural volunteer fire department.
We are almost neighbors! Your husband and nephew were my instructors for Rope Rescue. I LOVED that class!! I hope you are having a great week!

Sandy...haha didnt think i would see ya on here...i guess ill see ya at 14 tues night for class...
You sure do got that right. I hate them kind of women that think they can just do anything cause they flirt with the guys. I have worked hard to prove that I belong in the fire services. I had a girl like that in my fire class in school last year she was only there casue she had the hots for our instructor whos 26 and married she had just turned 17. but me and the other girl showed her off and he didnt really like her as a student but he put up with her. Shed always make him cookies or cupcakes and bring them to the station when he was at work on the weekends. Well be safe. Your sister in fire. Kayla
