I am retired and no longer an Active Firefighter,
but I am now and always will be a Firefighter. I
am a Life Member of my Fire Company.

I will eat sleep and breathe Firefighting until the
day I am called home to the Lord. I can no longer
offer my services, due to poor health, but I can and
will offer an opinion or advice where I can.

I have fought everything the Fire Service has had
to offer during my time as an Active Firefighter, from
fully involved structures to 20,000 acre Forest Fires, to
Anhydrous Ammonia and Anhydrous Hydrazine spills.

My devotion to the Fire Service has cost me heavily over
the years but I have no regrets. I am part of a Worldwide
Family. Anywhere I go I have Brothers and Sisters. I would
not trade that for anything.

God Bless the Fire Service and Firefighters everywhere.

You have to be a true firefighter to understand it the way you do. Thank you for putting into words what we all feel

Firefighter Eppinger:
I would like to think that you are no longer a "practicing" firefighter.
As long as you can share your experiences, offer your opinions and give your accounts of significant fires in your past, you are, sir, an "active" firefighter.
All of that knowledge that fueled your abilities through the years, now comes back as wisdom that you must share with the new ones.
You need not explain why you feel this way. I understand. I am standing right next to you.
Teach the children well as the song goes.

Thank you, Sir. And when God does call your name, you can tell him and Saint Peter that you are a firefighter.
