So my Fiancé and I are planning on doing a FIREFIGHTER THEME Wedding since we are both Firefighters. We are open to any ideas some fellow firefighters on here may have...such as what 2 colors we should do, ect. So feel free to post any suggestions you have, we would both appreciate it VERY MUCH!

Congratulations Chrystal! My wife and I had a a similar idea. But we were able to mix traditional reverence with some fun firefighter related things. Our service was a traditional Roman Catholic Mass. The firefighter ideas did not enter the church other than within the mass when the prayers ("we pray for...") we mentioned alll of our fallen brothers world wide and prayed for the safety of those that are responding and will do so in the future. Two of our trucks met us at the church for the processionall away to our first picture location. We are a volunteer department and our first stop was our village park. The trucks processed us to the prak with lights and sirencs where apropriate (not on main roads). We then took pictures around our ladder truck with various group shots including one of the entire wedding party. We gave each of the members of the wedding party a copy of this photo with a thank you letter. All of the men in the wedding party could enter the reception (when announced) with a helmet, or if a jokester looking for laughs old SCBA masks on. We didn't do this, but I have seen it at a firend's wedding since.

Congrats! My husband and I didn't have a firefighter themed wedding but we did ride in the new truck from the church to the reception ( which was in the firehouse banquet hall). I wanted a more traditional wedding and he was ok with that however here are a few suggestions:
1. Get the little plastic helmets( like we use for fire prevention) put names on the shield area and use them as placecards.
2. Red and white makes a great color scheme. Or use whatever color that your trucks are and white.
3. Make the grooms cake a firetruck ( wilton makes a firetruck pan, a firefighter pan or you can make a 3D fire scene I have done all three). Your bakery can do these in addition to the traditional cake or substitute it for the traditional cake.
4. Look through the fire prevention catalog, they have great little things that can be used as wedding mementos...or check with a local confectionary, they can make chocolates in all sorts of shapes, firetrucks, helmets, hydrants.
5. Get real redneck and wear bunker gear (cleaned of course) instead of a tux and dress.
6. Have the siren/ airhorn blow when you are leaving the church after the wedding.
7. There are of course tons of "fire" songs to be played at the receptions.
This is a really fun theme, so have a great time, there are lots of fire things out there that you can incorporate...just a word of cautiuon. Make Everyone except the chief or chief officer attending turn off the pagers, there is nothing worse than having everyones pagers go off all at once during a solemn moment.
