my name is brian breemes i am wih the stafford fire dept in ny tues jan 26th at 900 hrs a second alarm or a structure fire fully engulfed 9 fire depts responded including mine with our engine being 2nd on scene upon arrival we saw smoke and flames from 1 mile away when we approached the structure we found heavy smoke and fire from the back of the house we did an aggressive interior attack when the 2nd attack crew went to the second floor they found the stairs had collapsed as my self and chris my partner were on the first floor we found ourselves not able to advance any farther command called all interior crews out and we started an exterior attack with in minutes of exiting the structure the roof collapsed we hit the fire with hand lines blitz fires and an airial in the back of the strucure we could knock the fire down so we opened up the side wall and found a 10 by 10 room 3/4 full of fire wood we fianlly had the fire knocked down around 1400 hrs the home owner told deputies that she was running late to work and set a hot pail full of ashes on the linolium floor and missed the concrete slab the house was a complete lost and 2 cats were lost in the fire the home owner works for a vocational school and a trust fund has opened up for her thank you for reading and i will write more as events go on
