State regualtions and volunteer warning lights

I recently became the acting captain of my volunteer EMS organization in rural Pennsylvania. Being the captain I am entitled to use a RED warning light on my personal vehicle. Atop my car roof is the standard BLUE light that I also use for volunteer fire calls. Does anyone know if the RED light must also be visible for the full 360 degrees?
Where would one find the laws specific to each state that addresses the use of emergency warning light, who can use them and also their governance.
Thanks to anyone for some help in thi matter.

Sincerely,

Buddha

Pa says for EMS that a chief and one assistant may run red lights and siren and that they must be visible for 360 degrees just like any other warning light. That being said it also goes to say that certain areas do not enforce this. I know in my area in southeast PA we have officers that run a red dash light, and maybe grill lights with a siren so they are not visible for 360 degrees. Fire departments say that a chief and an assistant may run red but if you have more than 3 vehicles then it is one for each vehicle. Our department allows for the chief, deputy, assitant, and battalion chief to run red along with the fire police captain and lieutenant we have a total of 8 fire department owned vehicles, but one is the chief's command vehilce and the other is the duty chiefs car. I guess your best bet is to talk to the local PD, if it is state police coverage you might be chancing it if there hard core letter of the law. Hope this helps.

probably depends on your state. I know NJ has all their laws posted on their state website, it's just a matter of finding the one you're looking for.
