We are less than ONE week away from our webinar, "PFOS/PFAS How We Can and Will Move Ahead to a Safer Future," on Tuesday evening, August 31st at 6:30 PM EDT.
If you have concerns about these forever chemicals in our bunker gear, (both new and used, dating back to 1977!) them this webinar is for you! The presenters are each leaders in their field, including IAFF General President, Ed Kelly, Attorney Rob Bilott of the Taft Law Group, Graham Peaslee, PhD., Notre Dame Univ., Firefighter Jeff Knobbe, PPE Specialist, Deputy Chief Sean Mitchell of the Nantucket Fire Dept. Local 2509 and Firefighter Jason Burns of the Fall River Fire Dept., Local 1314.
You will hear what has been found, how it was found and what can be done to mitigate this situation and protect firefighters. There is already a small light at the end of this tunnel, with one gear manufacturer advertising a new water-repellent barrier (that has not be independently confirmed.)
Tickets are $20.00, with net proceeds to benefit the 5-Alarm Task For Corp. Foundation, whose only purpose is to offer some financial assistance to our Brothers, Sisters and/or their families, in dire need.
Buy tickets at https://Bit.ly/PFOS_PFOA2020.
There will also be prizes awarded by a random drawing of names of the attendees:
1. 3 5-Alarm Task Force T-Shirt
2. First Prize - A box of Responder Wipes, together with a bottle of the Respond Wipes Body Wash for the winner AND....a CASE of Responder Wipes for this winner's department.
3. GRAND PRIZE - A FREE 3-hour physiological exam, including lab work from Lifescan Wellness Centers. (Prize does NOT include travel, lodging, per diems, etc.)
It's time to look ahead to a safer firefighting future!
