So it's only been a month and one day since I had my surgeries and I've already injured myself. Today was the first day I've really got to ride my bike, so I decided to go mountain biking up in the mountains by Pine Flat Lake. Everything was okay until I took a turn too fast on a dirt path and found myself tumbling down a 30 foot cliff down into a ravine. Barely had cell phone reception to call an ambulance and half way through the call my phone died. Luckily they got enough information on my location before my cell died to find me. The helicopter circled me three times before they finally spotted me. Got choppered out to Fresno Community Hospital. Luckily I didn't break anything, but I do have whiplash, a nice size lump on the side of me head, some bruising on my back and side and just some pain all over. So luckily I will be fine and didn't put myself back too far on healing up.

Wow, that's quite a fall. Thank God they were able to find you and that you are ok.

Biking can get a tad dangerous, I'll never forget taking an off road path (if you could even call it a path) down through a small forest. As I picked up speed going down this hill, I knew the path I was taking so I felt pretty confident.

Amazing what a partially concealed root can do to your confidence...

I went over it and it shifted my direction right towards a tree, what happened next was a blur. I somehow managed to narrowly miss the tree with hard braking which shifted my direction again and back on to this path.

It was a scary moment, and it's moments like those that life really flashes before your eyes. Although this situation isn't nearly as dire, it definitely was something that made me think twice about doing the same thing with overbearing confidence. Fortunately, these experiences make us grow stronger and more aware.

Wishing you all the best on a good and quick recovery Christian.
