Notes from a Rookie Firefighter...September 30, 2009

I did a little detective work because a friend of mine couldn't get to the convention in Wildwood a few weeks ago and he wanted a golf shirt. Because of my work I have learned how to investigate and research using the internet and I found a way to get merchandise from the convention. I won't bore you with the details of how I found the link, but I will share it with you:

Tell the owner that Denise sent you. I just love passing on good information. And by the way, I got the last day price, which was almost half, for the golf shirts.

Next week is our company meeting when we start the process of nominating officers for the firehouse. We also have a parade this coming Saturday and it will be my first time I am marching. I like the interesting spin the fire department takes when it comes to elections of officers. And I don't want to forget to mention Inspection Night in a few weeks. At least this is another good time we will be required to wear a Class A uniform.

I am still in the midst of cleaning trophy cases since the rest of my committee has neglected to join me. But really it is such interesting work. Seeing how many trophies we won for the hose relay and marching will inspire me to remember my left from my right. At least I hope so!

Will be back soon.
