Cutting a tank containing even residue of a combustible or flammable liquid with a rotary saw (or anything else that produces sparks and heat) is not safe. I'm glad that your demolition crew was lucky and got away with it.

Denise that is awesome news. I am sure one day she will understand and thank you. About the tank, I never even thought about the sand/quicksand thing. lol Good point! I am a lil bit concerned about cutting the tank the way they did. I am certainly no expert, but oil tank, old, cutting, built up vapors, lack of ppe .. maybe its just me! lol
Would be an interesting post for "caption this picture". Certainly would be interesting to see the comments.

Hello Brian, supposedly it was normal about the opening the oil tank but they did say that the worker could have been sucked up in the sand like quicksand. My daughter was picked up thank goodness...she didn't remember (aka high as a kite) she had called her probation officer the night before. But at least she's safe for 2 weeks until she sees the judge again.

Yikes!. Denise, just one question.. DO YOU think it was a wise thing for those guys to take a saw to that oil tank? See if you can get some answers from the guys, and then from the fire department, and then maybe from workplace health and safety ( I am not sure what they call it down in your area) maybe even post this question here. I am curious to see the answers.
Did you say they found your missing daughter? Awesome.
