In 2003, the first National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament was held to raise awareness and to help sustain the programs of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
Now in its sixth year, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament has grown to include over 30 regional golf tournaments held across the country on behalf of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. These tournaments will help the Foundation continue to support the families and co-workers of fallen firefighters.
In 2008, 23 tournaments raised over $200,000 in support of the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation programs!
As you have probably noticed, we've added the remaining golf tournaments (as of June 17, 2009) to our Firefighter Nation profile. Please check and see if there is a tournament near you. If you don't see any close by, that most likely means your local tournament has already passed! Our golf tournaments are a wonderful opportunity to support the programs sponsored by the NFFF - and have a little fun while you're at it.
Please visit http://golf.firehero.org to view the remaining tournaments, or get an idea of which tournament you'd like to participate in next year. In 2010, we expect to expand upon the number of golf tournament sites, all because of your support. Thank you.
