My beef is not about gender. I don't care what gender you are as long as you have my back when the sh*t breaks loose. As I said before I joined this sight as a way to learn and exchange firefighting/EMS ideas not as a "myspace" sight.

As one of those "new female members" that appear to have no direct relationship to firefighting :) , I thought I would put in my 2 cents. I do have an interest in firefighting and have looked into a variety of avenues (books, websites, direct contact, etc) to find out as much as I possibly could about the profession, the people, etc in order to help me make the decision as to whether I wish to volunteer my time as a firefighter and take on the challenge.

While I appreciate your concern that I and/or others may be here to find a husband (god help me if that's the case - smacks of desperation), I think that you or at least the majority of you appear to be mature adults and fully capable of taking care of yourself. I can only speak for myself and that is not the reason I am here, but let me ask you something? Why do you care? Do you feel threatened in anyway by that assumption? And by the way, that is a huge assumption on your part and where I come from you learn to never assume anything.... sorry if you don't like my sarcasm, I come by it naturally....LOL. Suz

Being a female and alittle offended by the thought of just getting on here for what now a male firefighter.. hummmm been doing this for awhile...... Then being the good judgment on who is and who is not a fireman .. I'm sure as I have seen that none of you guys will be asking for their invite to be your friend..... It's a forum Let the web chief deal with figuring out who is suppose to be on here and not.. As far as I can see he is doing a good job in monitoring the site....Let him pick thru both men and women and decide.. I'm sure their might be guys on here for what ever reasons who may not be associated with any post of firefighting or ems or police.. maybe girl chasing also.... So lets be fair to both sexes and let Web Chief do his Job and the rest us go back and enjoy learning from each other.....
