we have it here to its great i like knowing that i have a full crew as soon as i get to the station plus to me it helps county know to stop sending out tones at 3 am
Yeah, it's pretty cool. It gives the crew at the station a reason to wait to see if anybody is coming, or lets them know that they can leave behind a driver to take the second engine because 3 more guys are coming. Or... lets them know that they've got 2 minutes to leave before that annoying safety officer gets to the station. (I didn't think of it that way until somebody said it last week.) The substation in my company has been using it for about a year, and we're starting to use it at our primary station. It's on a small screen next to the ladder truck, so not everybody sees it, but most of the drivers look at it before they fire up the motor. They're installing a large screen by the radio room in the middle of the engine bay.
