Plectrons, Town fire sirens, beer in the house (okay, not always a good idea), ladies auxiliaries, party line phones with the emergency ring.

I sometimes cover a station in a small town that still has a noon siren. I jump every time I hear it then get a little smile and a faraway look (Hey Grandpa, can I push the siren button again? Pleeesee!).

How about the tin Cairns helmets with the "Plectron" labels on them? And you were hot stuff when you were assigned a brand new Minitor pager. Not a Minitor 2, the original Minitor. Anyone use hose straps anymore?

My cotton duck was too long. There were more boots than I had leg & those old Chieftan helmets were something else. Don't forget "fireball" gloves.

How about the nice cotton duck coats with the removeable thermal liners, that you put in for winter? Or the 3/4 length boots that we sometimes forgot to pull up?

My first,last and only duty station had a gamewell. This was in 79. It was probably so old then that it took 2 full time employees to keep it running. But this was military, so who cared.

Be careful, your age is showing. :) We don't have Gamewell boxes around here but I'm with you on the rest of them.
