I wrote this for my then SGT boyfriend serving overseas and makes me cry every time. I hope it helps anyone who needs it.

1. I am his cheerleader. I rally around him when he does well and cheer him on when he needs it. I am happy to wash shine clean polish and keep up everything that has to do with his job.

2. I am his comforter. I give him hugs when he needs it and kisses when he craves them. When he has a bad day I am there to comfort him and tell him it will be ok. When he’s here, he comes home to loving open waiting arms, arms he cannot live without.

3. I am his reporter. I tell him everything that goes on so he can still feel like he’s a part of my life, even though he’s thousands of miles away.

4. I am his photographer. I take pictures of everything that happens here and send them to him so he can see everything that’s going on. These mean more to him than all the money in the world.

5. I am his secretary. I keep up with the bills and make sure everything is filed and filled out so he can concentrate on coming home safely.

6. I am his backup. I watch out for him and make sure he has everything he needs, no matter what. Even though he goes through hell every day, he knows I got his back. Period.

7. I am his best friend. He knows he can talk to me about anything and vice versa. His loves, fears, worries and everything in between flow freely between us, like an eternal river that only we can cross.

8. I am the love of his life, and he is mine. I cannot stress this enough, and I would do this all over again because his smile melts my heart and his voice calms me even in the worst of times.

9. I am his lifeline. I keep him connected to the home front so he still feels human and a part of it. He knows when he needs anything at all, no matter how big or small, I can and will crawl through barb wire to get it to him.

10. I am his rock. Even when he feels the world hates him or is falling apart I am there for him to lean on, and my arms will catch him for eternity, no matter what the reason.

11. I am his keeper. I do anything and everything for him because he is my soldier. He is my love, my heart, my life and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

I am his everything and he is mine.
