Firefighter Wives- What Makes Them So Special?

We all know about the emotional weight carried by firefighter's wives (and husbands) that comes from having him go off to work or respond to a call not knowing if he'll return in one piece, or not at all.

If that one quality wasn't enough, we know that there are many unique
qualities that make wives of firefighters so special- their ability to
juggle the family when he's not home, last minute changes in scheduling,
being there for him during the best of times and the worst of times,
having his back when he needs it the most.

Share with us that which makes a firefighter's wife so special. We'll be featuring this
discussion on an upcoming Firefighter NetCast program.

Like I said, I would hope all wives are special to their spouses. Not sure on why firefighters are any more special. Most wives around here work a full time career as well. Nobody can survive on just the firefighter's single income. In my opinion the firefighters tend to be the flexible one with the sweet schedule...

The feelings and the mental thoughts of a companion of a fireperson is very much under appreciated.
We as fire-fighters develop a mental state which is related to self preservation in a very dangerous situation in which we trust our lives to other members and them to us but the partner is not a buddy. We over look the need they want from us. Love them as if you stole them.

My wife is special, but I think she would be so even if I were a carpenter. (Wait a minute. "If I were a carpenter". That would make for a great song!)

Constructive bloggers, as well as others who start intelligent forum discussions, are not the enemy.

Ignorance is.

Us neither, brother.

Unfortunately, in a world full of adults, there are those acerbic lonely few who still have some growing up to do.

Ah, so you put it here instead.
I like the way that you think.
Who closed the discussion thread? You or someone else?
I guess the FireEMSBlogs bloggers have become the enemy.
I mean; it has changed us all so much.
I don't even recognize me anymore.
I never thought that a call for show items would cause such a stir.
Wow.
