Well first , Merry Christmas to all of my FFN friends , and a Happy New Year wish for all of us .
Earlier this year , I developed Atrial Fib Again an was not able to have cardioversion back into NSR due to a blood cot n my right Atria . I was put on a higher dose of Coumadin , and encouraged to increase my level of physical activity . I continued to walk daily , but it became more and more difficult due to worsening Shortness of Breath with any exertion .
In November, on the first , my PCP Cardiologist advised me he would attempt a cardioversion of my A-fib . It was successful , which was the good news . The NOT so good news was that the Cardiologist felt my heart was so weak that I needed to have a pacemaker/cardioverter/defibrillator implanted . So , on November 8th I got the IMD , Implantable medical Device .
All is well so far , I feel more energetic than I have in over a year !
My wife Pam and I have been separated for the past 2 years , although I was visiting on the weekends to see our Son , which has been harder on me I think than on him . We had the pressures of both of us having health issues to deal with and the obvious money issues we all have , and it was getting too much to deal with , so we decided to split up for a while . We are now seeing more of each other , and I am spending much more time at home with my family .
My son Austin, got his first Deer just before Thanksgiving . I was so proud of him ! I was also proud to have been there when he shot it . He wasn't squeamish about the field dressing part of the hunt either .
I look forward to rejoining response activities with the Clay County Rescue Squad and the Baptist Ridge Fire Department , as I have been released to do so from my Cardiologist .
Keep us in your prayers ,as I will be praying for all of my friends on FFN .
