April 2012 ,
I am officially retired from Wilson County EMA . I will miss the job , some of the people I've worked with and some, I hope to never hear from again . I have spent 28 + years with most of them , some of them have been to my home ,broke bread with my wife ,son and I , and most of those have never asked us to visit them . And yet , I was willing to risk everything to be there to back them up , such is life I guess . I look forward to Volunteering with the Baptist Ridge F.D. , I'll be doing the State Fire reports for the department . I can't do a lot of physical activities as a Firefighter because I have a heart in A-fib which makes me get very short of breath with heavy activity . I will always be proud of the service that I have been a part of ,and look forward to a new type of service to provide , administrative mostly as it may be for now .
