On Veterans’ Day morning, just before 8:00 AM, the Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue Company, along with several other companies from the surrounding area to include Berks county, was dispatched to the scene of a well-involved house fire. Upon arrival, we discovered that the home was the family of one of our own, Firefighter Chuck Patt.

Chuck’s family, to include the cats, were able to escape before the fire engulfed what remained of the home. The American Red Cross was called in to assist in providing shelter to the family. It took over over an hour and a half to bring the fire under control.

Chuck Patt has faithfully served this community as a firefighter for over 10 years. He is a dedicated father of 2 beautiful children, ages 9 and 11. We, the Officers and Firefighters of the Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue Company, are reaching out to you now and asking for any donations that you are able to make to help Chuck and the Patt family get back on their feet.
