Well I have been backing Dekalb 911 since March 1st and I can honestly say it has been eye opening! School can get you ready for the job or so you think. School can teach you how to do your job but it doesn't teach you how to deal with the the emotion that come's when you see death. Don't get me wrong, I love my job and I think I have the best job in the world. Where else can you wave at a cop as you run a red light? But when you have to do CPR on someone for awhile and then to have the Drs. at the hospital call TOD, it gets to you after awhile! The emotions can get to you and you have to question yourself whether or not you did enough! Last week was a tough week for my partner and myself, because what we saw within 2 days was a enough to last a life time! My hat goes off to the firefighters who see it alot more then we do!
