Yesterday (7/13/08) our Dept responded to a garage fire, My engine company was first due and we initiated an attack thru the front door to the interior door to the garage. Initially there was impingement at the door frame and that was extinguished, I was trying to open the door easy so we could attack the fire from the doorway once opened. As it would be the door did not open easily, and when it did it swung open quickly and the flames rolled at my partner and I, all I could see was a face piece full of flames, but was only temporary as we hit it with a fire stream, and preceeded to knock the fire down. I added a couple of pics of the soot my helmet has on it from the fire, all in all it was a pretty cool fire, and we did save the rest of the house.

Great job John! Great feeling when you can save the living quarters ain't it! I'm sure the family appreciated all your efforts.

I like the calls that get the blood pumping! But they are far and few between.

Sounds like you all did a good job with knock down and saving the rest of the house. It is always fun to have a face piece full of flames. Was it a hot fire also? Looks like it was a fun fire. Good job and stay safe.
