This was on a site for the Charleston 9. Thought I would share it!
What do I do when I can't find the word I need to say
Somehow my thoughts get in the way
The right words so perfect so true
I wish I could just say them to you
I could say thank you but that isn't enough
I could say I feel your pain and I know its tough
We lost a friend We lost a brother
Now We have to just hold eachother
They fought the fire they put out the flame
We will not forget their bravery faces or names
They Were the first ones in and the last ones out
Hero's among Hero's forever without a doubt
We all say a prayer each time the bell rings
Duty calls No matter the danger those flames my bring
The stand and fight with all they've got
And to a firefighter that means a lot
They say "Its our job Its what we are trained to do"
If I am lost inside "Just know that I love you"
The words I need to speak today
Somehow my tears keep getting in the way
You made your way on this earth
Fighting fires at their worst
You didn't fear a single thing
You charged face forward into the flames
Show no mercy you show no fear
You saved a lives far and near
On your way with fires to fight
You hope that people traped inside would be alright
You dedicate your life to saving others
When that bell rings your off to fight another
You give your all you give your everything
In the face of danger it courage you bring
The words are not easy to say
The tears I shed for you keep geting in the way
I want to say so many things
For losing you has made a stain
